That being said, the ability to turn lava to stone with ice would be a cool feature. That's the entire idea of roguelites, to measure risk of death and decide whether or not to pursue profit, not to win everything and get everything. Sometimes you have to skip parts of the last floor of the side dungeons. Don't go wading in without a build equipped to handle it. Not a guaranteed method either, but it would be a good elemental interaction Like the last floor of Arcane Tower, you can be severely screwed if it's a bad draw and you teleport into something monstrous-consider not starting down that path without good scrolls and movement. If there's a lava lake and none of the many methods of bypassing it. No harm in coming back at level 15-16, and it's not required to win. If you have mobility/range/blinking/resistance it'll do more for you there than just walking up and smacking things. There are lots of ways of dealing with the core, not just levitation (which is achievable by a lot of avenues). ![]() ![]() It could probably do with some small platforms across the lava, to make it at least possible for someone to cross it with movement points instead of levitation.Ĭarelessly engage means entering if you are ill-prepared. Not to mention that the changes to the Elemental Resistance system have made it so that Mummies and Trolls pretty much can't enter unless they get a whole slew of fire resistance items. But I agree, the Core comes down to luck as to whether you get one of those things or at least don't get the "river of lava" fourth floor. ![]() In fairness, that specific effect can come from two different equips, a potion, or a talent. It literally denies you 100% unless you have a very specific effect on you. The sidequests used to be easy equip looting, now if you carelessly engage any of them, you can get wrecked (slight exception of the factory being fairly easy) and it's often better to leave the final floor until you're a bit bulkierīruh it's not "carelessly engage" in lava lake.
